Everything here is about Final Cut Pro, which is the editor the collection ships for today.

Installing the plugins

You do not copy files by hand. The AwesomeFCP Manager is a small Mac app that installs the 130 plugins, keeps track of which ones you already have and updates them when we fix something.

1. Download and open the AwesomeFCP Manager.
2. Pick the plugins or collections you want and click install.
3. Quit Final Cut Pro completely (Cmd+Q) and open it again.

The plugins then appear in the Titles, Effects, Transitions and Generators browsers, grouped under names that start with Awesome, so they sort to the top instead of being scattered through the list.

Updating

When we fix or improve a plugin, the Manager tells you there are updates and downloads only what changed. You do not need a new copy of the app for that.

One thing that surprises people: clips you have already placed on the timeline do not pick up the update. Final Cut takes a snapshot of a template when you insert it. To see the new version, delete the clip and insert it again.

If something looks wrong

Quit Final Cut Pro fully and reopen it. That fixes most of it, because Final Cut loads plugins at launch and a plugin installed while it was running is in a half-loaded state.

If a plugin still misbehaves, tell us which one, which version of Final Cut Pro you are on and what you were doing. A screenshot of the viewer or the inspector usually saves a round of questions.

Requirements

• Final Cut Pro 10.6 or newer.
• A Mac with Apple silicon or Intel, running a macOS version Final Cut supports.
• Nothing else. The plugins render on the GPU and do not need Motion or any extra runtime installed.

Other editors

DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro versions are in development and not on sale yet. There is nothing to install for them today, and we would rather say so than take your money for a download that does not exist.
